The flags proposed for the island are red-green or red-white-green. The main colour of the Dannebrog (red) has been kept, and green has been added to represent the natural features of the island. White is sometimes used to separate the red and the green. The proportions are the same as for Dannebrog, 28:37 (12-4-12 : 12-421, in the red-green flag). The flag emerged sometime in the 1970's.
