The course in Auto Body Repair offers technical knowledge, along with hands on instruction in all phases of body repairing and refinishing. It also includes the use of modern tools and equipment and step-by-step procedures for handling typical jobs. One should have an interest in auto body repair and should possess a good mechanical aptitude. This is normally a two year course beginning at the eleventh grade and ending at the twelfth grade level. It is highly recommended that the post high school training be continued preferably in the apprenticeship program. In the automotive field, auto body repair is experiencing a fast growth rate than any other service area. As more automobiles appear on the highways, the number of damaged vehicles increases proportionately. Collision repair and the normal upkeep of the auto- mobile body requires increasing numbers of well-trained auto body technicians.
