At the Olympics, it's called "Chinese Taipei" and the athletes compete
under the Olympic flag. I don't think the Taiwanese flag has official
status anywhere that recognized Red China, i.e. most of the world these
days. When the President of Taiwan came to Cornell last summer, our
Collegetown district was covered with Taiwanese flags -- it was really
quite impressive. But Cornell flew Taiwanese flags at the official
reception, too. That, combined with the Cornell President's introduction
of the man as "President Lee" caused quite a furor among the scholars here
from the PRC.

WUFI is dedicated to the establishment of a free, democratic and independent Republic of Taiwan in accordance with the principle of self-determination of peoples. They are committed to the fundamental freedoms and human rights embodied in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and therefore repudiate all forms of foreign dominance and interventions that run counter to the interests of the 21-million Taiwanese people

This it a Taiwan's independentist flag, a 1 green 2 white 1 green
triband with a red "eight petal chrysanthemum" (or four crossed
hearts).
