Flag of 1930's

[Flag of Transcaucasian SFSR in 1930's]
by mark sensen 13-MAY-1996

Red with red star fimbriated yellow, one point pointing to upper hoist. In the star yellow hammer and sickle. Beneath the star yellow cyrillic initials (ZSFSR [Zakavkazskaja SFSR]) in sanserif, curved.

In the early 30's the republics of Armenia, Azerbaidjan, and Georgia have been merged to the "Transcaucasian Socialist Federated Soviet Republic". I have found a picture of the arms of the ZSFSR (again on a banknote): a five-pointed star with ornamental design (similar to the present Georgian arms), in the center a mountain range with three peaks (the 3 republics ?), plus sunburst and hammer&sickle.;
