The simplest variants of the White Ensign are those ensigns which place the national flag in the canton of a plain white field (like Bangladesh posted yesterday). Papua New Guinea is another country using such a naval ensign. Source: flag table in Jane's Fighting Ships.

Bougainville has a blue flag with a black disk surrounded by white and green triangules within a thin white circle. In the disk there is a red and white device. The ratio is unknown. Source: "Flagmakers catalogue".

At the 12th International congress of Vexillology, Wolfgang G. Jilek presented a work about symbols in New Guinea where he showed an actual flag of the city of Port Moresby: yellow with the black silhouette of the "lakatoi" boat of the local Motu people and, below, the inscription "CITY OF PORT MORESBY". Here I attach a reconstructed image from the photograph he showed. Unknown proportions.
