Maryland

My list of Liberian counties includes the county of Maryland, formerly a republic. W. Smith in his book says that yellow stripes appeared on the flag of the republic of Maryland. I suppose that the flag of the republic was horizontal: yellow, blue, yellow, but I'm not sure. Can you confirm?

Jaume Ollé, 15-SEP-1996

The flag of the African Republic of Maryland was thirteen horizontal stripes alternating between yellow and white. In the upper hoist corner was a dark blue square bearing a white cross similar to that of Switzerland.
