Above are six yellow sixpoited stars representing mainland and islands. Under shield is a motto: UNIDAD - PAZ - JUSTICA. The flag was addopted in 1968, when the state gained the independance. During the dictatorship of Francisco Nguema (1972-79) the emblem in flag was changed, but it is restored now.

Bubi flag

by Jaume Ollé 11-MAY-1996

Flag adopted for the Bubi people, which live in Bioko Island (Equatorial Guinea). Ratio 2:3. No more details. Spain betrayed to the Bubis and them denied their autodetermination delivering the power to the peninsular people Fang, whose governing clan, the Nguema, sow the terror in the country for years. Many Bubis have been refugee in Catalonia or Euskadi.
