Description of the Flag

The flag has four red and four white horizontal stripes, at the hoist checked in two columns.

Former flags of Bremen

The Land flag has eight stripes of red and white (or twelve, the number of stripes must be equal to 2 x n and not less than eight).

The state flag has the middle arms on a red square in the middle of the eight stripes flag or the Flag arms (a bit different from the Great arms) on a red square in the middle of the twelve stripes flag.

The state flag on water is the same as the state twelve stripes flag but there is a blue anchor on a white rectangle in the top left of the flag. Proportions 15:23.
