Status of the flag

Just for the record, the Norwegian dependencies in the Antarctic are Bouvet Island, Peter I Island and Queen Maud Land in the Antarctic. The national flag of Norway is the appropriate flag for them.

Jan Oskar Engene, 1995-NOV-19

Geography

Norway claims a slice of the Antarctic continent which runs from approximately 20 degrees west to 50 degrees east of the Greenwich meridian and contains the area known as Queen Maud Land. Much of this area is also claimed by South Africa.

James Dignan, 1995-NOV-21
