The Amazonas flag was adopted 14 January 1982. The rectangle blue contains
twenty-five white stars that represent to the municipalities that had the
territory on 4 August 1897 when the military forces boarded in Canudos to
penetrate in the zone. The greater star represents Manaus. The white symbolizes
the hope and the red the surpassed
difficulties.
